Title: STUDIES ON THE TRIBE PARERIGONINI FROM CHINA (DIPTERA: PHASIINAE)
Abstract: This paper deals with three genera and eight species of the tribe Parerigonini, among them one genus and five species are described as new to science, a male description of one known species is also supplemented. In the Chinese text a key to genera and species of the tribe Parerigonini is provided. All type specimens of the new species are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica.Parerigone Brauer1. Parerigone tianmushana Chao et Sun, sp. nov. (fig. 1)The new species is closely related to Parerigone aurea B., but may be distinguished by the tibia in black unicolor, dorsal surface of the thorax with black hairs; in male, the top of surstylus turning back ventrally and hook-shaped in lateral view.Length: 11-12.5 mm. Holotype ♂, Mt. Tianmu (30.4°N, 119.5°E), Zhejiang, 1,200 m. 12. Ⅵ. 1987; allotypc ♀, locality and data same as the holotype; patatypes 20 ♂♂, Mt. Tianmu. Zhejiang, 12-17. Ⅵ. 1987; all collected by Sun Xuc-kui.2. Parerigone brachyfurca Chao et Zhou, sp. nov. (fig. 3)This species is also closely related to Parerigone surea B., but Cam be differentiated from the latter by its tibiae all redish-brown; in female, 6th sternite with a straight postmargin, 7th sternite with a longitudinal gap along the middle at the apical 1/3 portion; in male, sur-stylus in lateral view with a spoon-like enlarged and a little curved forword apical portion.length: 12-13 ram.Holotype ♂, Moxi, Luding Co., Sichuan (29.6°N, 102.1°E), 1,600m, 18. VI. 1983, by Zhang Xue-zhong; allotype ♀, Ya'an Co., Sichuan, Ⅵ. 1986, by Feng Yan; paratypes 6 ♂♂, same as the holotype.Paropesia Mesnil3. Paropesia nigra Mesnil (fig. 4)This species was described only in female from Burma (Mesnil, 1970), we have a male from Zhejiang Provence, which basically corresponds to the original description of this species. Its diaghosis is given as below: Eyes bare, palpi black, ocellar setae developed and proclinate; the ventral side of surstylus with dense yellowish-brown hairs; aedeagus divided into three tube-shaped branches at the apical 1/3 portion.Parerigonesis Chao et Sun, gen. nov.The new genus is closely allied to Parerigone Brauer and Paropesia Mesnil, but scutel-lum without lateral setae; eyes densely and conspicuously haired; propleuron bare.Type-species: Parerigonesis huangshanensis Chao a Sun, sp. nov.4. Parerigonesis flavihirta Chao et Sun, sp. nov. (fig. 5)Male: body with gold-yollowish pollinose, lateral sides of thorax and abdomen with yol-low hairs; mid tibia with 2 anterodorsal setae but without ventral seta; aedeagus long and band-shaped, its length more than 4 times of the cerci.Length: 11 mm.Holotype ♂, Pianma, Lushui Co., Yunnan (25.9°N, 98.8°E), 2,300m, 29. Ⅴ. 1981, by Wang Shu-yong.5. Parerigonesis huangshanensis Chao et Sun, sp. nov. (fig. 6)Male: body with greyish white pollinose, lateral sides with black hairs; mid-tibia with 2 anterodorsal setae but without ventral seta; aedeagus band-shaped, its length 2-3 times as that of cerci. Female: mid-tibia with 2 ventral setae.Length: 10 mm.Holotype ♂, Mt. Huangshan, Anhui (30.0°N, 118.1°E), 3. Ⅵ. 1987; allotype ♀, Huang-shan, Anhui. 2. Ⅵ. 1987; all by Sun Xue-kui.6. Parerigonesis nigroeauda Chao et Sun, sp. nov. (fig. 7)Female: mid-tibia with 1 strong anterodorsal seta and 1 ventral seta; vein r1 with several setae at dorsal surface of apical 1/3 portjon. Length: 9.5mm. Holotype ♂, Mt. Tianmu, Zhejiang (30.4°N, 119.5°E), 22. Ⅴ. 1987. by Sun Xuekui.
