Title: Analysis of Intima-media Thickness of Carotid Artery and its Correlation Factors in Chronic Renal Failure Patients
Abstract: Objective:To investigate the incidence of carotid atherosclerosis and its correlative factors in chronic renal failure patients. Methods:Carotid intima-media thickness(IMT) was observed by Color ultrasound parameters in 71 non-dialyses patients with chronic renal failure(CRF),and the levels of inflammatory factor, prealbumin(PA),renal function, blood lipids, age, syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine and blood pressure parameters were measured in these patients, then analyze the relations between these parameters and IMT.Results:The increased intima-media thickness of carotid artery incidence in non-dialyses patients with chronic renal failure(CRF) was 38.03%.The level of inflammatory factor in increased IMT group was higher than that of normal IMT group(P0.01),the PA was lower than that of normal IMT group(P0.05),and the age and hypertension incidence are greater than that of normal IMT group(P0.05).The differences of Scr,BUN,Uric Acid and blood lipids between increased IMT group and normal IMT group have no significant(P0.05).The increased thickness rate of IMT of syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine between increased IMT group and normal IMT group have no significant differences(P0.05).Conclusion:38.03% incidence of increased intima-media thickness of carotid artery in patients revealed that atherosclerosis incidence was significant increased in non-dialyses patients with chronic renal failure. The level of inflammatory factor, hypotension and prealbumin(PA) are associated with the increased IMT and the age and the hypertension may also associate with increased IMT non-dialyses patients with chronic renal failure. And the Scr,BUN,uric acid, blood lipids and syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine have no significance relation to the increase of IMT.
