Abstract: Graphical Abstract South Korea is a country in East Asia occupying the southern half of the Korean Peninsula, surrounded by China, Japan, and Russia with a population of almost 50 million. It has a 5,000-year-long proud history, but the modern science is relatively young. However, Koreans have had a great extent of scientific advancements, including organic chemistry as a subject dealing with conventional organic reactions and synthesis, chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, and biotechnology, as well as materials science, in the last few decades. This special issue celebrates the wide range of organic chemistry research being carried out in South Korea and by our alumni. We are grateful to Professors Hyun-Joon Ha and Seung Bum Park for generating the Front Cover image.
