Title: Modeling and Coupled Vibration Analysis of Two-Span Series Dual-Rotor System
Abstract: The vibrations of a series dual-rotor system can accompany on the complex coupling relationship between the two rotors. The vibration caused by the assembly accuracy of the inter-shaft bearing will also bring instability factors to the system. In the process of high-speed operation, each vibration characteristic directly affects the safe and stable operation of rotating machinery. The dual-rotor system allows different rotational speeds between different rotors. Because of the difference in the rotational speed and the coupling state between both rotors, the vibrations have not only unique vibration characteristics of each rotor, but also have coupling characteristics between rotors. All phenomena mentioned above make the analysis of the system more difficult. In this paper, the vibration equations of each rotor are established based on the Lagrange equation. The vibration characteristics and the influence of the inter-shaft bearing on coupled vibrations of rotors are investigated systematically. The coupled vibration equation of the series dual-rotor system is determined. Based on the numerical simulation method, the coupled vibration response characteristics of the series dual-rotor system are studied.
