Nobody can claim that he or she has a full command over the Holy Qur’an, understands its lexical, semiotic, syntactical and rhetoric features because it is a divinely authored book well beyond the scope of human understanding. Right from outset time to this day all commentators of the Holy Qur’an agree on this point that if anyone intends to get accurate meaning of any word or verse of the holy Qur’an, he or she should first properly consult the works of the Mufassireen or expert opinions of the interpretors of this holy scripture as it is verty dificult for a common reader to understand it without any consultation. On one hand, the holy Qur’an seems to be an easy book, yet it poses great difficulty in understanding the underlying message or get to the depth of its meanings. In short, it is an easy text for a common reader because the verses of the holy Qur’an contain difficult lyers of meanings and than what makes it prominent is its rhetorical language and rich examples of insights. This mericulous book can be approached from two different perspectives i.e theoretical and empirical manner. Allama Abd al-Qāhir al-Jurjānī applied the theoretical approach to understand the miricales of th Holy Qur’an while AllÉma Zamakhshari resorted to the empirical access to the holy scripture and the later has been inspired by the former in his book Tafsīr al- al-Kashāf.Read More
