Title: MON-225 TO DIALYZE OR NOT: OUTCOMES OF RENAL REPLACEMENT THERAPY IN CRITICALLY ILL POOR PROGNOSIS PATIENTS
Abstract: Renal replacement therapy (RRT) is commonly needed in intensive care unit (ICU) to treat critically ill patients with severe acute kidney injury or end stage renal disease. Several factors associated with higher morbidity and mortality and aggressive treatments might be futile. RRT needs to be initiated if ethically and medically appropriate. In day to day practice, we noticed increase demands of RRT among terminally ill patients with poor prognosis that creates an ethical dilemma and studies addressing this issue are limited.
