Title: An analysis of melt spinning master-curves of low-density polyethylene/linear low-density polyethylene blends
Abstract: The melt elongation rheological behavior of a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) blended with a linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) was studied using a melt spinning technique. Based on the extension properties of the LDPE/LLDPE blend melt under experimental conditions, the melt spinning master-curves were plotted by introducing scaling factor b. The results showed that the extension load increased with increasing extension rate while decreased with increasing die extrusion temperature. It was found that the melt spinning master-curves could describe the elongation rheological behavior of the LDPE/LLDPE melt melts under different conditions including various die extrusion temperatures, die extrusion rates and LLDPE weight fractions. In addition, both the relationship between the scaling factor and absolute temperature and the relationship between lgb and lgv0 were linear.
