Abstract: The sharing economy is growing significantly. It calls into question the market logic of the capitalist system. Can it be seen to form part of the ecological transition? Its components are manifold and sometimes contradictory. It forms part of a general movement towards the elimination of intermediaries. It values individual autonomy but can also contribute to the creation of communities. This article examines how the sharing economy links to other emerging economic forms, such as the social and solidarity economy and the circular economy.
