Abstract: The paper discusses a strategy to retrench the laser beam cutting costs, which is possible upon the optimisation of cutting parameters. In order to make the laser cutting quality more predictable, the surface roughness and drop appearing models are introduced to determine the optimal cutting parameters. A further retrenching of costs is achievable by machining time reduction. Necessarily machining duration can be reduced by a good cutting order of the segments and by a laser cutting head free movement number reducing. Accordingly, an efficient strategy for multi-criterion optimisation of cut quality and unique optimisation of material utilization and laser head path are proposed.
