Title: Crystal structure and superconducting properties of layered copper oxides containing “123” block and single-MO2-unit fluorite block :
Abstract: The crystal structure of nonsuperconducting (Ho,Ce)2(La,Ba,Sr)2Cu3O8+z is analyzed by the Rietveld refinement of TOP neutron powder diffraction data. It has a tetragonal unit cell with a space group of 14/mmm, and lattice constants a=0.383046(6) nm and c=2.82944(6) nm. In the unit cell of the crystal, there are two different crystallographic sites, i.e., A1 sites for Ho and Ce and A2 sites for Ba. Sr and La. The structural parameters of this sample are compared with those of the superconducting (Nd,Ce)2(Nd,Ba)2Cu3O8+z.
