Abstract: Films as one of popular cultural products frequently give their female character limited roles as the ones who always been subordinated. This makes gender equality hard to achieve. To draw the feminist goal in reaching fairness
between men and women, an examination in popular cultural products needs to be done. This writing intends to examine how the representation of the female character in films is unequal and stays behind the curve of the feminist liberation movement. The object of this study is Molly’s Game (2017), a film by Aaron Sorkin. It is a film about a journey of a former athlete becoming a female entrepreneur in the gambling industry. Using a qualitative research approach, it is found that the society‘s patriarchal value that occurs in gambling industries always positions women bellow men's position. This writing uses narrative and
non-narrative approach to analyze the object. It focuses on Molly Bloom as the main female character who is subordinated by having a physical limitation and also being used as an object to be looked at.
