Abstract: Creatine is one of the most popular supplements that is widely used by professional
athletes as well as recreational amateurs. Creatine supplementation has been shown to
increase strength and body composition in most individuals when combined with exercise.
Creatine monohydrate has also showed beneficial effects in treating some neurological and
neuromuscular diseases. Creatine monohydrate is a molecule that is naturally present in the
human body, especially in the skeletal muscles. About 90% to 95% of creatine is stored in
muscles, with the rest found in the heart, brain, liver, kidneys, testes and almost every cell.
Creatine is taken in supplement form to help boost the production of energy in the body.
The main task of creatine is storing phosphate groups in the form of phosphocreatine,
which support the release of energy and therefore help build strength and the growth of
muscle mass. The purpose of this final work is to emphasize creatine characteristics, the
mechanism of action and the effects of creatine supplementation on human body
