Title: Design and Implementation of an Efficient Sectoral Reflector Antenna for Radiosonde Ground Stations
Abstract: In this paper, the design and manufacturing of a sectoral corner reflector antenna with a sectoral-hemispherical radiation pattern is described for radiosonde ground station receiver applications. The suggested solution is a seven-section antenna; consist of six monopole-excited sectoral corner reflectors with high-gain directional patterns and a cross-dipole antenna with low-gain hemispherical pattern. The radiation pattern of this structure covers the hemispherical space for receiving the transmitted radiosonde signal from any direction by fast switching between seven-section antennas. This stationary solution is the best replacement for the rotary high gain antenna and can be used to receive the transmitted radiosonde signals.
