Title: Optimization and Analysis of Coplanar Double-Repeater Used in Dynamic Wireless Charging
Abstract: It is shown that the distance of wireless power transfer (WPT) can be significantly increased by placing intermediate coils (repeaters) between transmitter and receiver. While in common cases, repeaters are placed near the middle of the gap between them, which puts limits on the application of WPT system with repeaters. At the same time, misalignment between transmitter and receiver greatly affects the performance of the system. This paper proposes a coplanar double-repeater (CPDR). By parameter optimization, the feasibility of biased repeater and effects of improving misalignment tolerance and efficiency are verified. The biased repeater is applied so that the proposed repeater can be used in dynamic charging for EVs. The repeater is placed close to receiver and they are integrated into an equivalent receiver. To improve the power transmission ability, the frequency of the integrated system is adjusted. The performance of the proposed repeater in dynamic charging system is validated by simulation.
