Title: Sains-du-Nord (Nord) : une agglomération de la cité des Nerviens
Abstract: L'agglomération antique de Sains-du-Nord (Nord) est connue grâce à des découvertes fortuites depuis le xixe s. À partir de la fin du xxe s., grâce au développement de l'archéologie préventive, des pans de quartiers ont pu être fouillés, parfois sur de grandes surfaces. Malgré des contextes d'intervention difficiles – délais réduits et sites en partie irrémédiablement détruits par les aménagements contemporains –, ces opérations ont permis d'élargir notre connaissance de ce site qui a pu, dès lors, être formellement identifié comme une agglomération secondaire. Après dix ans d'interruption (1998-2008), six nouvelles opérations archéologiques – quatre diagnostics ayant donné lieu à deux fouilles – ont été menées sur la commune. Elles ont permis d'étudier des contextes variés se rapportant aux domaines religieux, domestique et artisanal. Ainsi, les informations recueillies au cours de ces interventions ont permis d'enrichir et de renouveler notre perception de cette agglomération secondaire. La synthèse de ces données permet d'en proposer une première analyse topographique et de formuler une hypothèse quant à son origine.
