Title: Numerical analysis of cathodic protection for traction poles
Abstract: Electrochemical corrosion is the main cause of the degradation of the underground steel infrastructure. Its control, repair and maintenance spend increasing amounts, which is a serious economic problem. One of the most effective methods of protection against electrochemical corrosion is the cathodic protection. The paper proposes modeling of the galvanic protection system of the underground section of the construction of traction poles made of R35 type steel. The main purpose of this study is to use simulation tools to design optimal cathodic protection systems and determine the distribution of potential and current density on Uuried construction surfaces.
