Title: 15.2 Redox Dysregulation Affects the Development of Interneurons Critical in Anxiety-Like Behaviors
Abstract: Cortical interneurons have been implicated in multiple mental illnesses. Their development in the embryonic brain is critical for their later function. Prenatal risk factors with links to mental illnesses, such as prenatal stress, disrupt the development of inhibitory neurons; however, the mechanisms by which this occurs is unclear. Redox regulation is a significant factor for interneuron function in the postnatal brain and may determine interneuron development in the prenatal brain.
