Title: The regeneration of saturated ionites after sorption recovery of uranium from productive solutions with high content of chloride ions
Abstract: The process of uranium recovery by various eluents (sodium chloride, mixture of ammonium carbonate/bicarbonate (ACBM) and ammonium nitrate with the addition of sulfuric acid) from saturated anion exchange resins Purolite A660/4759 and VPAE was investigated. The desorption process was most efficiently carried out by solution of ammonium nitrate (85 g L−1) with the addition of sulfuric acid (25 g L−1) with values of uranium recovery degree of 97.05 % and 76.61 % for Purolite A660/4759 and VPAE respectively. When using sodium chloride and ammonium carbonate/bicarbonate solutions for regeneration, uranium recovery degree is lower by more than 20 %.
