Particular attention should be given to teacher's professional competencies on student assessment, which requires detail informations on classroom assessment implemented. If teachers wish to improve their assessment and instruction skills, they should internalize the underlying knowledges and skills that inspire their practices and understand what is going on in the classroom. The purpose of this study is to examine the implementation of classroom assessment and teacher's professional competencies on student assessment. Site visits to middle and high schools are conducted to explore the level of educational function of student evaluation, and also in-depth interviews and surveys for teachers are performed to examine the school plan of student assessment and teachers' evaluation activities. It is identified that changes, efforts, and administrative supports are needed to strengthen the educational function of the classroom assessment. The results of this study can provide a set of implications that can be applied in development of teachers' professional competency and classroom assessment policy.Read More
