Title: Improvement on Live Migration of Virtual Machine by Limiting the Activity of CPU
Abstract: In the process of virtual machine live migration, the use of pre-copy technique can effectively reduce the downtime. However, when the generation rate of dirty pages is higher than the transmission rate, the dirty pages will accumulate, resulting in the failure of live migration. To avoid the live migration get failed, this paper proposes a method that can ensure the success of live migration by reducing the activity of CPU and adding a mandatory stop condition. The experimental results show that the total time of live migration and the transmission data size are decreased by the proposed method.
