Title: The bioactive content of CTCL cell line-derived exosomes and small microvesicles: First study in CTCL
Abstract: Introduction: Exosomes and small microvesicles are membrane-enclosed nano-sized extracellular vesicles released by cells that serve as vehicles for the transfer of biologic materials to recipient cells, thereby mediating intercellular communication. Cancer derived exosomes and small microvesicles are known to modulate the host immune response and microenvironment to support immune escape, tumor growth, progression, resistance and metastasis. Clinically, exosome and small microvesicle miRNAs and proteins might serve as minimally invasive biomarkers and even as therapeutic targets.
