Abstract: This creative work takes the form of the sound design and composition for the theatrical production of the Queensland Premiers Drama Award winning work Rice written by Michele Lee. Through the application of pointers of the emergent praxis of Aural Scenography the music and soundscape, created by Wil Hughes and Tony Brumpton, explores the sonic perspectives of contemporary multiculturalism, globalization, and feminism their impact on a professional and personal level on two Australian women. The soundscape and composition demonstrate a developmental stage of the sound design methodology Aural Scenography, presenting a work that investigates techniques to address the theatrical hybrid of heightened realties, emotional motifs and physical realities through environmentally aware approach to theatrical sound design.
