This study aimed to develop and validate an other-regulation scale for college students. To achieve this purpose, the authors reviewed existing research on collaborative learning and co-regulation, and other-regulation was postulated as a unidimensional construct. As the first step of scale development, sixteen items were crafted based on the relevant items suggested by prior research. After confirming its c ontent v alidity through expert r eview, t he d raft q uestionnaire was administered to 281 college students for preliminary analysis. Two items were eliminated as a result of item analysis, and the number of the factor was determined as one based on exploratory factor analysis. Next, 410 college students were sampled to validate the scale, and thirteen items were selected as the final scale which are both statistically valid and theoretically sound. By confirmatory factor analysis and correlation analysis, the construct validity and criterion-related validity of the other-regulation scale were verified. Implications for future research are discussed in terms of the measurement of regulations in collaborative learning.Read More
