This article had as objective to analyze the implementation of the seven principles of TQM in civil construction. Methods: A descriptive and explanatory case study was conducted. We interviewed the Quality Manager with the objective of understanding the techniques and actions of quality management in projects of a large construction company located in the interior of the State of Sao Paulo. Results: It was possible to highlight the importance of the involvement of each collaborator of the organization, the need for top management support and the influence that TQM exerts on decision making and the product delivered to the final customer. Conclusion: We conclude that the scope of quality management is associated to several aspects of an organization, and a good management and the degree of satisfactory involvement of its employees is necessary. The use of TQM provides total quality assurance and a positive outlook for continuous improvement, which benefits the maintenance of the company's competitiveness in the market.Read More
