Title: Integrated Psychodynamic Psychotherapy with Children
Abstract: Integrated psychodynamic psychotherapy with children attempts to prescribe a specific psychotherapy for a child at a specific developmental level with a specific psychiatric syndrome. To this end, any and all accepted means of treatment are integrated in the treatment approach. The use of nonpsychodynamic modalities does not minimize the psychodynamic modality, but, in most instances, enhances the psychodynamic inquiry. The interpersonal and experiential aspects of psychotherapy are emphasized. Specific aspects of technique such as the use of play, the nature of insight, transference, and counter transference are considered.
