Title: Microfluidic mixing elements for concentration gradients
Abstract: This paper describes a simple microfluidic device that is developed for generating concentration gradients of biochemicals. 2D mixing elements, arranged in pairs, are designed within a Y-shaped microfluidic network to induce fluidic mixing. Long-range concentration gradients are generated quickly and showed stability over time. Therefore, operation is reliable and well suited for long-term biological experiments. The device's simplicity and ease of use are intended for applications in biological laboratories without the need for engineering expertise or sophisticated equipment.
