Title: Pternopetalum porphyronotum (Apiaceae), a new Critically Endangered species with abaxially purple leaflets from Sichuan, China
Abstract: Pternopetalum porphyronotum , a new species from Dafengding Nature Reserve, Sichuan Province, China, is proposed and described. Diagnostic morphological characters, full description and detailed illustrations are provided. Pternopetalum porphyronotum is quite different from the other known species of this genus by the following 2 characters: the 1‐pinnate leaves and the abaxially purple–red leaflets (paler along the edge). A comparison between the new species and the two most similar congeners P. subalpinum and P. gracillimum are presented. The novelty was found only on two cliffs in the much human‐affected outskirst of the nature reserve and is asessed as Critically Endangered (CR).
