Title: Negative refractive index metamaterial for enhancing radiation directivity in S-band
Abstract: A new design of metamaterial having a negative refractive index in the whole of S-band (2.2-3.3 GHz) is shown which resonates at 2.5 GHz with less than -40 dB of the reflection coefficient, thus showing a perfect transmission. The radiation pattern with and without metamaterial is compared. It is seen that the radiation directivity is enhanced due to the metamaterial when the half power beamwidth is compared. This structure can be used in the application like wireless power transfer.
