Title: F154. Impaired Interrelationships Between Thyroid and Adrenal Axes in Major Depression
Abstract: Major depression has been associated with dysregulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis as well as of the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axis. Evidence suggests that glucocorticoids inhibit thyrotropin (TSH) secretion via the glucorticoid receptors. However, in depression, their effects on the HPT axis are controversial.
