Title: The effect of alloying elements on the stacking fault energy of a TWIP steel
Abstract: High manganese twinning induced plasticity steels present good mechanical properties that depend firstly on the stacking fault energy (SFE), with decreasing value of this energy the plasticity of these steels is achieved by : (i) gliding of partial and perfect dislocations, (ii) mechanical twinning, (iii) martensitic transformation. In this paper one TWIP steel was used in the aim to predict the SFE at different temperatures and different percentage in weight of alloying elements by following the thermodynamic modeling approach originally proposed by Olsen –Cohen.
