Title: Extraction Model of Cd2+and Al3+across the Water|1,2-Dichloroethane Interface
Abstract: In the present work, the assisted transfer of Cd2+ and Al3+ by hydrophobic ligands (dibenzo-18-crown-6 and dicyclohexane-18-crown-6) across the water|1,2-dichloroethane interface have been investigated. This process was carried out using cyclic voltammetry technique. The results showed that the Cd2+ and Al3+ can be extracted across the water|1,2-dichloroethane interface by these ionophores. When the ionophores are used synergistically (in mixtures) the cyclic voltammogram showed a higher current peak, indicating that the extraction of the metals ions may be more efficient than using a single ligand.
