Title: From BR to ISIS. The Italian domestic and international response to terrorism
Abstract: Italy is currently one of the front-actors involved in the fight against international terrorist organisations such as ISIS, and one with the most solid and advanced anti-terrorism legislative structure among European countries. However, in the existing literature studies on the post 9/11 Italian response to terrorism are almost completely missing. This paper addresses this gap by detailing the Italian domestic and international decisions to fight domestic and international terrorism. In addition, an updated description of the country's counterterrorism security apparatus is also provided. The aim is to shed new light on the counterterrorism behaviour of an engaged, and essentially efficient, overlooked small-power.
