In an age of increased freedom of choice and
diminished social guidance, new structures are needed
to help people explore these existential questions in
a safe and constructive manner.
Focusing on the critical life transition of Emerging
Adulthood, the author proposes to use the tools of
art therapy to assist young adults in search of their
path. Emphasizing an archetypal approach of the
creative process, she examines how the encounter with
art media and images can foster the emergence of
personal meaning and creative competences toward
finding one's place in the world. Finally, she
presents her vision of an art-based exploratory
program designed to facilitate this process.
Richly referenced, this book will be an inspiration
to professionals (creative art-therapists and
art-educators) who are helping adults in their
personal development, as well as those interested in
the relationship between art and psychological unfolding.Read More
