Talented employees who are ke...The impossibility of building a talent pool overnight along with the itching reality of talent shortage has enhanced the importance of talent management in organisations. Talented employees who are keen about their career growth are constantly monitoring the development opportunities provided by the organisations. The present article explores the level of talent development practices and the level of employee retention in Indian IT organisations. It tries to determine the relationship between talent development practices and employees intention to stay. The study was conducted among 700 employees of ten selected Information Technology (IT) companies in India which have a formal talent management system. The study found that the employees perceive a moderately high level of talent development practices and demonstrate a moderate level of intention to stay with the organisation. It was found that talent development practices have a significant positive relationship on employees’ intention to stay. As retention of talented employees is a major concern for organisations, this study recommends that organisations need to focus on the development opportunities provided to their employees for retaining them.Read More
