Abstract: Zoogeographical analysis of species composition of macroinvertebrates of lake systems of the southern Ob-Irtysh interfluve in the 1996-2011 period showed the majority of species widespread in the Palaearctic and Western Palaearctic, as well as the ones, widespread in the Holarctic. Total fauna of water macroinvertebrates includes 11 types of distribution. The zoogeographical data of lakes studied indicate their belonging to the Western part of the Palaearctic that agrees well with the known systems of zoogeographical zoning. Comparative analysis of fauna of identified homotopic and heterotopic species revealed that the most extensive areas (worldwide, Holarctic-Oriental-Neotropical and Holarctic-Ethiopian-Neotropical) are found only among homotopic protoaquatic archaic taxa. However, the East-Palaearctic species were found only among heterotopic species, i.e. amphibiotic insects. These ecological groups are distinct in dominant zoogeographical areas: West-Palearctic area is for homotopic species, while Transpalaearctic is for heterotopic ones.
