Title: The influence of thymoma- surgery on paraneoplastic myasthenia gravis
Abstract: Background: Thymomas are rare malignant tumors of the thymus which are often associated with myasthenia gravis. Despite their relative infrequence thymomas are the most common primary neoplasm of the anterior mediastinum. Complete operative resection is the mainstay of therapy and the most important prognostic factor. Surgery is performed due to oncological reasons, few is known about the influence of thymoma- surgery on myasthenia gravis.
