VPA has been demonstrated to have a negative effect on both the intrinsic and extrinsic coagulation systems. This article focusses on VPA induced fibrinogen reduction and hypofibrinogenemia. We systemically analyzed the fibrinogen reduction after VPA treatment and the ratio of hypofibrinogenemia incidence. The result WMD (weighted Mean Difference) of fibrinogen reduction was 54.61, 95% CI (70.2, 39.02), P<0.00001.
