Title: Self‐Healing Materials: Tough Self‐Healing Elastomers by Molecular Enforced Integration of Covalent and Reversible Networks (Adv. Mater. 38/2017)
Abstract: In article number 1702616, Li-Heng Cai, David A. Weitz, and Jinrong Wu fabricate a tough, self-healing polymer network by crosslinking randomly branched polymers that carry motifs able to form both reversible hydrogen bonds and permanent covalent crosslinks. This concept of using molecular design to mix covalent and reversible bonds should enable the development of tough, self-healing polymers for practical use.
