However, there is no tradition for describing eye and vision research in a person-centred context. Eye and vision research and its intended outcome are primarily geared towards increasing knowledge to help individuals with a vision problem. This chapter presents the case example that aims to see if methodology explicitly described as person-centred in psychopathology research can be useful for eye and vision research. The large inter-individual variability in vision can be observed in young persons, and the variability decreases with increasing age when only individuals who are considered to have normal healthy eyes are included in the study. There are lessons to be learned from studying both inter- versus intra-individual variability. The research question needs to be explored to find what approach is most appropriate.
