Abstract: Kolja Lindner, Théorie postcoloniale et le spectre de Marx : à propos du marxisme de Vivek Chibber Postcolonial Theory and the Specter of Capital de Vivek Chibber présente probablement la critique marxiste la plus rigoureuse des études postcoloniales. À l’occasion de sa traduction en français, cet article interroge la conception du marxisme qui soutient cette entreprise. Après la présentation des thèses principales de Chibber, ce texte discute ses propos sur l’histoire de la genèse du capitalisme, le travail abstrait, le travail « doublement libre » et la conception des intérêts « objectifs ». Sur chacune de ces thématiques, il s’avère que Marx et le discours marxiste sont plus ambivalents que ne l’avance Chibber et que ces ambivalences, malgré le bien-fondé de la critique chibberienne, constituent des points de départ tout à fait légitimes de la critique postcoloniale. Il semble donc nécessaire de travailler à une conception plus adéquate du champ théorique marxien et de rectifier les défaillances du marxisme, une entreprise qui demande une capacité d’autocritique ainsi qu’une reconnaissance du pluralisme.
