Abstract: Chinese herbal medicinals that rectify or regulate the qi movement (sometimes referred to as “qi mechanism” or “qi dynamic”) as the main role and treat qi stagnation or qi counterflow syndrome are called “Herbs That Rectify Qi” or “Herbs That Move Qi.” Herbs that rectify qi are mainly indicated for the treatment of distending pain in the stomach cavity and abdomen, belching and acid swallowing, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea or constipation caused by qi stagnation in the spleen and stomach; distending pain in the hypochondrium, depression and discomfort, hernia pain; distending pain in the breast, and menstrual irregularities caused by constraint and stagnation of the liver qi; chest oppression and pain, cough and panting caused by obstruction, and stagnation of the lung qi.
