In this research work, the total antioxidant capacity of fresh fruit juices, vegetable extracts, wines and tea-like beverages (infusions) was measured as the ferric reducing ability/antioxidant power (FRAP), and compared with average FRAP of human blood plasma (1000 μ mol/L). The antioxidant power of controlled plant material (juices, extracts, infusions) was good. The best results were obtained for mulberry and blackberry juices (24380 and 42314 μ mol/L of juice). It can be expected that diet rich in fresh fruit or vegetables in combination with some medicinal plant infusions, could have postive influence on the antioxidant capacity of blood plasmaRead More
