Abstract: This report describes the use of a plotting software developed for the MASSCOMP 5600 Computer System. Two versions of the software hsve been developed, one of the VT300 terminals and the other for the Masscomp Colour Graphics Display Terminal. The plotting software consists of a pre-processor and other plotting routines written in C. The plotting software enables the viewing of a large number of plots, with upto sixteen plots being displayed on one screen. The plots can be distributed into plot planes, with each plane having a capacity of sixteen plots. A configuration file enables the plotting parameters such as styles, colours and weights of lines and text, charater sizes, tic number sizes, etc., can be specified. A complete menu system has been installed. This enables the user to select options in an easy and simple manner. The menu system for the Colour Graphics Display Termal version of the software makes full use of the windowing capabilities of the Graphical terminal. Options provided enable printing ( on the PRINTRONIX Printer ) or plotting ( on the HP 7475A Plotter ), previewing before printing or plotting, setting of metafile modes and grid overlaying.
