Abstract: Elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) is the most efficient public key encryption scheme based onelliptic curve concepts that can be used to create faster, smaller, and efficient cryptographic keys. ECCgenerates keys through the properties of the elliptic curve equation instead of the conventional method ofkey generation. This scheme can be used with public key encryption methods, such as RSA, Diffie-Hellman keyexchange and Digital Signature. Review of the four protocols which applies ECC namely Bitcoin, secureshell (SSH), transport layer security (TLS), and the Austrian e-ID Card describes the high security by usingelliptic curve cryptography.
