Title: MIS for Implementing Multi Project Programs
Abstract: The successful implementation of large or small capital improvement programs must include more than the management of schedule and cost. An effective Program Management Team must be concerned with funding, budgeting, project prioritization, cash flow, performance, contracts administration, payments, change in scope, property acquisition, permitting, accounting, public relations, and coordination of numerous departments, agencies and contractors. As in the case with all programs, as the projects which comprise the program increase in number, size and complexity, the need for complete, centralized and accurate data to make timely and accurate decisions becomes critical. A comprehensive Management information System operating on a personal computer system, can efficiently provide all levels of management with data required to quickly analyze variances and develop a proactive strategy to maintain cost and schedule.
