Those skills helped frame his cut-and-paste collages for several decades. During his career as a cultural anthropologist he developed a better eye for composition while using photography in ethnographic research in Colombia, Mexico, and the United States. He moved into digital imaging in the late 1990s and has cultivated an I can do attitude as he engages in a silent dialogue with the world of perception and imagination. He is one of the founders of the Digital Art Guild and the editor of its Webzine, www.digitalartguild.com. He also serves as one of the co-moderators for the Digital Fine-Art Yahoo Group. Joe's art and thoughts are available at www.digitalartist1.com. JD Jarvis has accumulated a long career in TV production and graphic design. He earned a B.A. in mass communications and an MFA in video and mixed media, and he has written many articles on topics related to digital art, which have been widely published electronically and in the print media. His artwork has been featured in the Ylem Newsletter, IEEE Computer and Applications magazine, Northern New Mexico Gallery Guide and EFX, Art and Design. With some international exhibitions and other honors, he is encouraged to continue to create art and digital prints from his electronic studio in Las Cruces, New Mexico. JD's artwork and writing can be seen at www.dunkingbirdproductions.com. Written for artists working in any medium who wish to use digital technology to nurture, enhance, and present their work.
