Title: Estimación de pérdidas locales de energía en tomas domiciliarias de agua potable
Abstract: Due to the low-pressure heads that potable water distribution networks may present, especially at the time of maximum demand, it is important to consider water losses at domestic intakes. This would allow knowing the pressure head at domestic intakes in order to deliver the demanded potable water with an adequate pressure. In order to consider local energy losses at domestic intakes, it is necessary to know, with a good approximation, the coefficients of local head loss (generally represented by letter K) at the different fittings. This work includes the estimations obtained in a hydraulics laboratory of the local loss coefficients for the main fittings used at domestic intakes. The reported results are for 90o elbow, tee, mechanical flow meter, and globe valve (partially and fully open), because current information is not enough. The studied fittings are the most commonly used for domestic intakes, whose diameters are 13, 19 and 25 mm, made of copper
