Title: Is Septoplasty Justified in the Treatment of Chronic Pediatric Sinusitis?
Abstract: Introduction: Although many predisposing factors have been studied, the etiology of chronic pediatric sinusitis has not been clarified. Deformities of the nasal septum have been implicated in the pathogenesis of chronic pediatric sinusitis, but reports remain contradictory. In addition, most cases of nasal deviation are left untreated since septoplasty in children is not widely performed due to the high percentage of recurrence.
