Title: 718 Dynamic Vibration Absorber with a Two-Stepped Sheave
Abstract: A device of dynamic vibration absorber with a two-stepped sheave for short elongation of spring is proposed in this paper. The dynamic vibration absorber contains a two-stepped concentered sheave. The spring of dynamic vibration absorber is connected not to the translating mass, but to the inner radius of sheave, and string is wound around the outer radius of sheave. This mechanism makes the elongation of spring less than the stroke of absorber mass as the function of outer and inner radius of sheave, which makes easy to install dynamic vibration absorber. This dynamic vibration absorber is applied to pendulum and experiment is conducted to validate the theoretical result. The optimal damping coefficient and frequency ratio of dynamic vibration absorber for free vibration are derived analytically, and these values are used to computer simulation and experiment. The agreement of both of them is good in general.
