It is sho...A dynamic absorber attached to two degree of freedom system is investigated. The natural frequency of the dynamic absorber is tuned to either 1st or 2nd natural frequency of original system. It is shown that there are 3 fixed-points in the frequency response functions. Two fixed-points are in the vicinity of tuned natural frequency and one fixed-point is in the vicinity of another natural frequency. The amplitudes of the fixed-points suggest that if the natural frequency of the dynamic absorber is tuned to the 1st natural frequency of the system, it is possible to suppress 1st and 2nd mode simultaneously.
